MapThe conference is hosted at Besançon by the Université de Franche-Comté, who celebrated in 2023 its 600th anniversary. Besançon offers a unique 2000 years heritage from Roman ruins to its famous Citadelle, a Unesco World Heritage Site that overlooks the birth city of Victor Hugo and of the Lumière brothers. Known as the capital of time due to its clock and watch-making tradition, the city, nested in a loop of the Doubs River is a natural wonder with a preserved biodiversity and geological curiosities.
