The conference is hosted at Besançon by the Université de Franche-Comté, who celebrated in 2023 its 600^th anniversary. Besançon offers a unique 2000 years heritage from Roman ruins to its famous Citadelle, a Unesco World Heritage Site that overlooks the birth city of Victor Hugo and of the Lumière brothers. Known as the capital of time due to its clock and watch-making tradition, the city, nested in a loop of the Doubs River is a natural wonder with a preserved biodiversity and geological curiosities. The workshop takes place in the city center, at the "Maison des Sciences de l'Homme et de l'Environnement Claude-Nicolas Ledoux" (MSHE) of the Université de Franche-Comté, an interdisciplinary research laboratory, which offers modern facilities for conference events in the city center of Besançon and easy access with urban transport or personal vehicles. A large auditorium and an exhibition room is available for the presentations and the poster session.
